New CD, tribute to Manuel Castillo






   Cristina Lucio-Villegas obtained her degree as Docent in Piano and Chamber Music from the Madrid Royal Conservatory of Music in 2003 and the master’s degree in piano performance from the Sibelius Academy of Helsinki in 2008, receiving the best qualifications. From 2008 to 2011 she studies the Artist Diploma Module at the Queen Elisabeth College of Music (Belgium) graduating with the qualification "Greatest Distinction".


   Cristina has performed as a soloist, chamber musician and Lied pianist in Spain, Belgium, Germany, Finland, France, Italy, Ukraine, in other European countries as well as in Brazil, Indonesia and Oman. It is worth to remark her passion for chamber music and her interest in contemporary and symphonic music, which has inspired her to study orchestra conducting.


     She has won prizes such as Special Prize "Rosa Sabater" to the best interpreter of Spanish music in the 55th International Piano Competition "Premio Jaén" (2013) and Medal and Special Prize “Instituto Cervantes” in the 54th International Music Competition Maria Canals, Barcelona (2008).


    In 2008, after passing an open competition, Cristina became piano teacher at the conservatories of Madrid.
